The Hilton Lake Taupo has great views of the lake. Ignore the reviews about this hotel not being up to Hilton’s standards, the hotel is more of a resort set up than a more urban hotel. My only complaint is that you can’t walk to town from the hotel. I would recommend the hotel offer a shuttle for when people want to go out for dinner and drinks.

Beautiful hotel, located about a five minute drive from the town centre. Well appointed, modern, comfortable and clean. The beds are super comfortable and customer service standards are superb.
We made use of the spa, pool and sauna which were awesome on a chilly night to relax and warm up.

This place has plenty of amenities presented nicely. Pool area was lovely and gym located next to it. Our room was well appointed spacious and clean. We chose an apartment as we have three kids. We did have to ask for our room to be serviced but the maids left our kids nice notes thanking them for having their room nice. The valet service was great. The concierge also great and arranged shipping for the parcel we had left behind. Pity when we had some issues with the room these weren’t fixed. We were promised a bottle of wine as a consolation but had to ask for this 48 hours later when it hadn’t turned up. The hotel is on the Napier Taupo highway so it’s out of town and you’d need transport.
