We came to stay for 2 nights and wished it was only one. The villas are very cold. The heating offered is not adequate for the whole Villa. We don't like to sleep with a heater going so needed to add our sleeping bag to the bed cover. The beds are very old and uncomfortable and pillows no better, thank goodness we had packed our own in case. The pantry was damp and musty smelling in 32b. While the receptionist was pleasant when I spoke to one of the staff about the crushed cable pole advising it had been parked over by another vehicle she was so off handed and not the least bit friendly or concerned. Would we stay again ? No. However it was clean. Internet was soooo slow.

Room tip: If you want wifi you need to be closer to reception.

We stayed here as part of an organised tour with the Lions. Considering it was June: July and Winter in New Zealand the Lodges were absolutely freezing when we arrived. Clearly a Summer resort as the Windows were single glazed. There was only 1 wall mounted fan heater which was grossly inadequate. We did request another heater which we had to collect from reception. It wouldn't have taken much to go round the lodges an hour before we all arrived and put the heaters on. The Bar closed at 9 pm - missed a trick there! The breakfast was adequate but often cold. Would stay here again.

We stayed here for a weekend and it was adequate for what we needed. Very basic, no SKY TV and a weekend full of international sport so had no choice but to travel into town to pubs to watch games which wasnt ok for everyone. Would have been much easier had they had SKYTV there for watching the games. Didn't bother with the wifi after other reviews, free amount was very limited.
Bed was comfortable, pillows nice and it was clean which is really what matters at the end of the day I guess. Was worried after some other reviews it may not be clean but it was.
The shower was appalling, no pressure and a simple thing like no shelf in the shower meant soap and things on the shower floor.
I also thought salt & pepper are usually in motel rooms but there wasnt anything extra like this other than tea and coffee. Little UHT milk pottles so we went out and bought our own but I realise that is personal taste.
A shame the curtains were missing hooks and hanging off the rails which made the rooms look sad. Chair in lounge had the bottom hanging down. There were no pictures but one in the lounge which left the cottage feeling very bland for what could be a cute cottage.
Grounds & gardens were looking nice.
Certainly wouldnt go there for anything special but ok if visiting family and need extra beds. Expensive for what you actually get.

We had a one-bedroom unit. It was very spacious and set in lovely grounds.
The bedroom was nice and sunny first thing in the morning, which was wonderful on a cold June day.
All the necessary amenities were provided and the towels and sheets were very nice quality and the unit was clean.
The heating was adequate My only negative comment would be the lack of artwork. A picture in the lounge would have taken some of the blandness away! But not a major.
All in all a nice place to stay and handy to town.

Met basic requirements for a one night stop over on our way to Auckland. Was very happy with how clean it and the price.

Negatives - the way the rooms are designed they're split by an internal door and each time the neighbours got up in the night the light shone through to our room. Was also a lot of noise that came through the walls from next door.
