Trucks stop late at night and leave very early morning. very loud. no kitchenette in this studio room. Room was mish mash of old and new decoration. price reflected location and room. maybe stay again. Reception staff very nice and chatty. restraunt looked good and was busy.

Room Tip: request a better room.

The room we had was clean and comfortable. It was not modern but it had what you needed for a couple of nights. It was expensive but didn’t help that it was Easter weekend. Unlimited wifi was useful. The hotel is about a 5 min drive to the centre of town where most of the cafes, restaurants were. The receptionist was friendly. If you’re looking for somewhere easy then it’s probably fine. Definitely not luxury or resort.

I'm not sure why this place calls itself a "resort." It looks nice enough as you drive up, and there is an outdoor pool. We also had some nice views of the sunset from the parking lot. But basically it is a motel, the kind of place that takes you back forty years or so.

Most, if not all, of the rooms look out over a parking lot, which was full of vehicles. We had to keep our curtains pulled. When we first arrived, I was lounging on the bed and a man walked right in front of our large window and looked in! Very little privacy.

The furnishings are basic and old-fashioned looking. The beds had firm mattresses, which we appreciated, but not everyone might like. This is the kind of place that made me glad I was staying only one night. There was nothing seriously wrong with it, but it was so drab as to make me wonder how this could be part of a holiday trip.

Booked a night here very last minute on our way up to Auckland - the staff were very friendly and accommodating for us as we arrived late at night after their check in hours. Very tidy and clean rooms, just enough space for what we needed.

There was just the two of us travelling but the resort seems very family friendly and accommodating to all groups.

They also have a pool, tennis courts and spas which we unfortunately didn’t have time to use! I’d love to come back for longer to make the most of this great little resort.

Lakeland Resort is in a good location and came recommended. I just stayed overnight in a small, functional but slightly dated room - no complaints and front desk was very welcoming. I didn't try the restaurant or use the other facilities so can't comment.
