It was a homely and warm lodge. The breakfast was delicious and they responded to all our requests. They introduced us to two places for dinner, and they were very good. The beautiful garden is well maintained and it was fun to walk around. The starry sky was very beautiful. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the Southern Cross and the upside-down constellation Orion were new to us. We could also see the Milky Way. thank you.

When we arrived, owner Gary was already waiting for us with a very warm welcome. then we were given a tour of the beautiful lodge with a breathtaking view over Lake Taupō. The breakfast was delicious. In addition, Gary was very helpful in finding an address for dinner and had all kinds of tips for the area. Overall a great experience. On the day we left we also walked through the beautiful garden. We would also like to thank Shirley for her excellent care.

I only regret that I am limited to 5 for this review. This place is awesome. It made our whole trip. The lodge, the food, the service were all beyond our wildest dreams. It felt like home. We are already planning to return. The best place we have ever stayed, period.

We had no idea what a paradise Lake Taupo Lodge would be! The surrounding gardens and views from our room and patio were absolutely stunning. Gary was the ultimate host, ensuring everything was taken care of and offering various services to enhance our stay. The chef's cocktail hour and breakfast preparations were of gourmet quality. The room was lovely and included many features and some food and beverages that were gratis. Parking was so convenient - right on the premises. We only wish we could have spent more time there.

This was one of our best stays during a 3-week NZ trip. Warm welcome, great setting, wonderful amenities, and an enchanting couple of hosts. Breakfast was outstanding and the recommendations of the hosts for activities and gastronomy spot on. The house breaths FLW (one of our favorites).
