Taking safety measures
We recently spent the weekend with Gary and Shirley at Lake Taupo Lodge. Where do I start? Their property is absolutely amazing and first class from the architecture to the artwork, the furnishings, the crockery, the ambience, the chef, the food, the spectacular gardens, their dogs Baxter and Zoe, the local tips and their gorgeous company. Gary and Shirley were outstanding hosts and we loved being treated like royalty. The lodge has incredible views of the lake and the gardens are a joy to spend time in. My partner and I along with two close friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Taupo Lodge. Set above picturesque Lake Taupo in a quiet location at Acacia Bay, the view from the room deck is breathtaking. Gary and Shirley are great hosts, and are very interesting to engage with in conversation over the 'welcome' canapes and glass of wine. In fact excellent food is a highlight, the fresh and delicious breakfasts are the nicest we've experienced.
The comfortable, well appointed rooms left us wanting to extend our stay, or plan a
return. Overall a 5/5 experience, but next time we intend to enjoy more time at this special place.

An exceptional property with stunning views of Lake Taupo all tucked away within a beautiful & private garden. Our hosts Gary & Shirley gave us an extremely warm welcome and looked after us during our stay, our dietary requirements weren’t any issue for their wonderful Chef! Delicious breakfast! Gary even served up some very tasty canapés to enjoy with our wine before we went out to dinner. I highly recommend you experience Lake Taupo Lodge, all within a short drive to all of Taupo’s picturesque sights & epic experiences. #lovetaupo

When we had trouble with accommodation Gary and Shirley came to the rescue, getting us in last minute and accommodating our 2 young children without a second thought. The Lodge is truly beautiful with a view to match. Both Gary and Shirley are super friendly and although probably not too used to the little ones running round, made it a safe and fun place. Breakfast cooked for us each morning was delicious and the chef was always eager to make sure he had done his best, which he had.
If you like a morning stroll as I do, no need to go looking for it or go far, the immaculate gardens on ground are a perfect walk and my 2 year old loved the fish pond, while also feeding the fish and birds with Gary.
We will be coming back for sure but maybe just the 2 of us next time ;)
