What a beautiful property and amazing gardens. We loved the peacefulness and the hospitality at Lake Taupo Lodge. Gary could not have been more helpful and the breakfasts and pre-dinner drinks were a lovely touch. The lodge is a little way out of town so you would need to drive or get taxis into town for dinner, but the advantage is the view of the lake. A real experience.

Fantastic property beautiful grounds extremely friendly and willing to accommodate in every way possible. Chris the chef was fantastic we had a huge breakfast made to order every day, no need for lunch. Ken helped with daily plans and arranging dinners. WiFi was recently improved and worked fine. Only 6 rooms and very spacious I would highly recommend and if returning to the area would definitely stay again below views from room

I cannot begin to express how much we enjoyed our stay with Gary & Shirley & their wonderful staff. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and pampered, and the room was impeccable and tastefully decorated, with a view over their magnificent gardens. Wandering through the footpaths of their property was magical.
A sense of calm fell over both of us, and we even thought of throwing away our blood pressure pills! Breakfast was something that you excitedly looked forward to, just to see what chef Chris had concocted, every time beyond delicious. The staff went out of their way to be friendly & helpful.
Truly the finest accommodations we’ve ever experienced, hands down, anywhere. World class.

Great breakfast, beautiful gardens, nice room (very clean, twice a day new towels), perfect host and chef in the kitchen.
Too bad that the wifi was not working in the guestroom. Doesnt fit with the whole picture.

This is an absolutely spectacular home in a beautiful setting. The room was wonderful, the food was delicious...and the gardens...well, you just have to see for yourself because they are too gorgeous to describe aptly.
