Definitely do not stay here - customer service is a 0 out of 10. Booked in here a few months back for a family of four , which we were all very excited for.
Paid in full ($300+) but due to COVID Volatility had to cancel the booking at least 3 months prior to the stay date. This was a “non refundable” booking which we had only found out after payment , so we were refused a Refund due to this being the owners policy.
We were then emailed and told that we had been tentatively Re-booked in again for October the 31st ( not a suitable date at all for us ) which we told them that this wouldn’t work out due to work commitments and not being able to get work off for this date that seemed to only suit them. Informed them of this fact via email. (Multiple emails back and forth requesting our money back) it’s just the morally and ethically right thing to do - we physically couldn’t stay and had paid for a room upfront , money that they have decided to hold on to.
They then rung my wife today to see where we were / if we were going to stay there the night. No information passed on to anyone of this matter. I then rung them back and asked where our money was / had gone to. We don’t know was the reply. Asked to please speak to the owner about a refund. Was told this wasn’t at all possible. Asked for ANYONES number to help resolve the issue. None given.
Moving forward , we will never book or stay here again and will actively recommend to others if they go to Taupo to avoid staying at the Acapulco Motor Inn.
