Have stayed here a few times. Room 401 is our favorite. Bedroom with a double and single, bath and shower, cooking facilities. This room is very sound proof. Hosts are lovely just ask them if you need something. Free wifi and a pool for warmer months. This place has a lift too. Located very central to shops, bars, gardens etc and there is a viewing platform to look over Lake Taupo right across the road.
Great view, nice and clean and very comfortable bed and hosts friendly.
The place, however, does need a makeover I think, the room we stayed in was on the top floor premium price but furniture is looking tired and we found the heating inadequate.
It is close to town which is a bonus.
Just a one night stay this time. Clean and tidy and over-looking the lake. What more could we ask for? For an older establishment, this is still a good place to stay. Close to the CBD and the cafes and restaurants which are all within walking distance for those who can go a kilometre or so each way. The configuration of the unit is odd as there is no door on the bathroom/toilet area. You need to close the door from the living/lounge area for privacy. When I booked over the phone I spoke with a very pleasant young lady who was polite and efficient. I would happily stay here again.
Have stayed at Tui Oaks many times but it sure is time for a make over. Room clean & tidy but the whole place generally looking tired & shabby. When paying $170 a nite for room with a view I was hoping for clean windows to enjoy the view. I would expect better quality toiletries, hair dryer, makeup remover, & extras for that price. Bed comfy, location perfect but feel over priced. Not sure why bright outside lights need to be on all night. Hoping Tui Oaks improves.
We have stayed many times in Taupo and Tui Oaks is our favourite accommodation every time! It is centrally located to all cafes and restaurants, shopping, adventure sports and most of all it has the most stunning view from the front units. We stay in 301 and we get a corner and front view of the lake and mountains. Rooms are serviced daily by very friendly staff. Very comfortable and clean accomodation - highly recommended.
