We did this with our three children under 12, and had a blast. The water is crystal clear which makes the skimming over the water, around the rocks and debris and huge 360 turns terrifying and exciting. The ride take you up to the Aratiatia Dam, and the Rapids created after the dam release (only finished 15mins before you at the bottom). After that you race down the river, and see the natural landscape, and are informed about the local area, landscape and more. The river is really narrow in parts and our driver was fantastic. He had a great sense of humour and interacted with the adults (not just our family on board, as the boat holds 13) and children in a great way. It just made the whole experience even better. A highly recommended experience, with an excellent company.
