We stayed here for two nights before doing the Pouakai Circuit and loved it so much chose to stay here the night we got back from our hike.

The room was very clean. Had two queen or king sized beds, I’m not sure what size they were but they were very comfortable. There is an opening window for fresh air and an air cond unit, a heater, a fan, extra towels and little extras like free newspaper and toiletries.

The staff were friendly and we could not fault their service.

We ate in the buffet at the hotel one of the nights and found the selection of the food very good. Once again the service from every staff member was exceptional.

The room we had faced a fairly busy road and we kept the window open at night but did not find the traffic noise to be too intrusive. We paid $150 for the room which was a special deal. I highly recommend a night or two here.

Room Tip: We had room 773 both times we visited. We could just see a peep of the sea.

Absolutely loved my stay here with my partner. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city. Close to gas stations, supermarkets, food outlets however you may not need any of that because the restaurant there is AMAZING! Had dinner there and it blew my expectations. Again went for breakfast which was even better!
Customer service was absolutely wonderful from anyone I encountered there. Bartender was super friendly and happy to help with whatever random request I had such as just wanting ice lol.
Only let down would be maybe the walls as we received a noise complaint from just the tv - watching an action movie at 10pm. Would have preferred to not be put put next to an elderly couple.

Room Tip: Try book when there isnt an event on

This hotel is good for a short stay, has a restaurant onsite, a swimming pool, nice rooms, good staff.

Restaurant and bar gets quite busy so good to book in.
This hotel is about a 10-15 min walk from the shops, a couple of blocks from the walkway along the waterfront.

We recently stayed 4 nights for the Americana Car Show. The hotel was chosen primarily as it had parking for our very large classic car, and for relaxing in the pool after the hot days on car runs.
Wednesday and Thursday night was great with no problem finding parks. Friday and Saturday the place was over run with little kids booked in for pool parties. And the car park was chocker with wedding guests parked. It was noisy and very busy.
I understand the need for every business to make money, but to have to leave our vehicle on the road along with a number of other expensive classics was annoying.
We won’t stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the pool and garden areas if staying weekends. Higher floors are less likely to have party guests wandering passed.

Hi Raelene,
Thanks for your involvement with Americarna here in Taranaki. The 800 cars give so much pleasure to young and old alike.
I'm pleased you had a great sleep in our beds, but sorry you were unable to find a car park on-site a couple of nights you were with us. My apologies!
Kind regards,
Peter Tennent

We stayed recently at the Devon Hotel, we were there for a wedding also being held at the Devon.
The facility is excellent. We were very impressed with our room. So clean and bright with two queen beds in the one room. They provided way more of supplies in the bathroom than any other hotel I have been in. They thought of everything.
The staff without exception were fantastic.

The wedding set up was just lovely in the garden.

Room Tip: We had room 787 which looked out over the garden and towards Mt Egmont. This was one of their newer rooms and has two queen beds in it.
