They call it Spa and provide the foam for the bath. Its in your unit not common. Really enjoyable for 2. Value for money. Kitchen. Right on Fenton Street. Skt tv is provided. Rotorua town is beautiful. Eat at EAT STREET STREET, great food there.

The positives: the walking distance to town, the super market across the road, the beds were awesome, great owners. Had everything we needed cultlery etc. The room/s were spacious (except bathroom), floors and benches were clean, great having 2 fans as it was super hot! Great tv with sky channels for the kids.

The Negatives: the shower had mould all in the corners, the bathroom walls and ceilings were covered in little squashed bugs everywhere, the spa was super old so didn’t use, the room smelled a bit musky, tight squeeze in the bathroom, first place we had been to that didn’t have a little milk in the fridge, the fridge has rust all around the bottom.

We arrived after 10pm without a booking and were given a one bedroom unit at a budget price by a very friendly manager who went out of his way to help us settle in. The unit was old but still looked fresh rather than tired with excellent colour co-ordination of cushions and linens.
The beds were very comfortable and the WiFi connection was fast.
We would happily stay here again.

We spent 3 nights at the Golden Glow and used it as a jumping off spot for the surrounding area. We were in one of the older units which was clean and spacious; the internet connection was good. There was a kitchenette which was well equipped and a table and two chairs for sitting. Because of the age of the unit, having enough outlets for computers and appliances was a bit of a challenge, but we managed. Getting good air flow was difficult as the windows at the front only open a small amount, however it got so lovely and cool at night there were only a few really hot hours and a fan was provided to help with this. Martin, the manager, couldn't have been a more pleasant and helpful man. It was a delight dealing with him.

We stayed here as a last minute change of plans saw us spend another night in Rotorua, and the accomodation we stayed in the night before was already booked up. Young man at desk was very friendly.

Room was immaculately clean and spacious, however very dated and in desperate need of a refresh. At this price point I would expect a bit nicer room in comparison to other hotels we have stayed in at the same price in NZ. Beds were comfortable though, which made for a great night sleep. Was not a hot night, but could see it being quite stuffy without any AC in the room, and the slight Sulfur smell would prevent me from opening a window. Outside of property has been refreshed, so hope that the rooms are in the process of being done as well.

Location on the main Rd was excellent, easy walk to the main CBD area and a takeaway and supermarket both extremely close by. Kitchen has all the basics you would need to have breakfast or make a quick meal.

Reason for giving an average rating, and poor felt too harsh, rather than excellent is the following: abysmally slow wifi that we ended up giving up on, as it was so slow to load anything. Towels smelt like they had been sitting rolled up in an old cabinet for a few days, so not fresh at all & outdoor spa, whilst a nice option looked so old and worn out it wasn’t appealing to us to use.

No power points at all in the main bedroom to plug in chargers, and the power points in the kitchen, one didn’t work at all and the one that did work is half hanging off the wall, which is incredibly dangerous, but no other option to boil a kettle or use the toaster without plugging into another point close to the floor in the sitting\area with 2 single beds in it. Fine for us as a couple but dangerous if we had kids travelling with us.
