Fresh made pastries, berry and custard crumble pies, and hot (Big!) breakfast sandwiches made this a perfect morning start for our crew. We left well caffeinated! :)

While Ciabatta Cafe topped the restaurant list in Rotorua on Tripadvisor we had initially ignored it as it is located outside of town in an industrial area. So, unless you have a rental car you are not going to make the trip. This, clearly, was a mistake. On our way out of Rotorua on an early Saturday morning we were in need of sandwiches for the trip so we stopped over at Ciabatta Cafe and ordered three of their sandwiches. The sandwiches only appear on their lunch menu but they made them fresh for us at 9 in the morning, They have a number of bread choices you can select from and we ordered the chiabata and whole grain bread. We opted for the Veggie, the Hammie and the Chookie and all of them were just delicous. Each one had a different sauce and innovative ingredients - kudos to whoever came up with the combinations. The breads were also great and the sweat pieces in the glass vitrine looked very enticing. Make sure you stop over while in Rotorua. You will not be disappointed.

Had the bakers breakfast of different breads with conserves and superb coffee
All the bakery goods look good. High quality fresh bread, took with us what we couldn’t manage and enjoyed toast this morning
Wouldn’t have found this gem of a bakery if we hadn’t looked in the tips from the Arista Capri Hotel
