Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Opened in August 2012. Explore the ancient forest of the Mamaku Plateau 10 minutes from Rotorua on New Zealand's only native forest zipline canopy tours. In small groups of up to ten people you will be accompanied by two highly trained guides who will teach you about the rare New Zealand flora and fauna and the conservation efforts to protect them. Every plant and tree species you see, you will not see in any other country on earth!! There are two unique eco-tour experiences to choose from - the award winning 3 hour Original Canopy Tour built and opened in 2012 includes tree platforms up to 22 metres above the forest floor, 6 ziplines and 2 tree to tree swing bridges. The 3.5 hour Ultimate Canopy Tour is even longer, faster and more spectacular featuring a suspended cliff walkway, 1.2km of ziplines (the longest is 400m!), swing bridges, a controlled descent and an incredible spiral staircase.

This was AMAING for us two grandparents and two kids. The safety checks were rigorous and the two guides simply the best The 3 hours flew by all to quickly..we had treks through the forest, native robins eating out of our hands, facts about the pests to our native species to learn about and the of course the ZIP LINING which was just the best experience. We felt safe and secure after the first of six lines was done and dusted. Each one was a differ t length or height above the canopy. lots of photos taken en route.
The kids wanted to go on another trip straigh5 afterwards so what a great recommendation! Thanks guys For the best day in ages.

What special memories you would have made with your two grandchildren. Maybe we will see you on the Ultimate Canopy Tour once the kids are old enough - we would love to see you again! Sounds like you had an awesome time, we are happy to be apart of it!

Its amazing Togo and look at the view as you zip line past all the trees. With all the history behind the forest from the trees to birds it's a great place to take kids of all ages. I would request it because it is amazing and you will enjoy it.
