A wonderful guided tour pleasantly surprised by the treat we got to taste cooked in one of the hot springs. Though we went as a couple it is suitable for families with young children. Highly recommended. Always that more special when your guide is a direct descendant of the whenua and its History. This fulfilled our travel experience of appreciating a slice of Aotearoa in Rotorua x

Our guided tour was awesome!
Our tour guide CHIEF was entertaining and so informative. The tour was amazing, getting to know details of why and how they live on the land and use their amazing resources living amongst geothermal landscapes.

Definitely the absolute highlight of our trip !

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend doing this activity. We had the best time walking around and looking at the thermal pools snd part of the village.
The cafe was the perfect stop after our walk for a local Hangi made steambox pie and cuppa. Covid has hurt a lot of places and it was so good to be able to support this wonderful village.

Ever since we left Whakarewarewa Village, my friends and I can't stop thinking about it.
Wow - what a humbling and moving experience. Our tour guide was a lovely gentleman named Paora. His passion for his culture was evident, and he made us feel at home in his precious village. He was incredibly informative and answered all of our questions. His sense of humour was also top-notch. Will miss him!

It's the only living Maori village in Rotorua, and I highly recommend Whakarewarewa over some of the more 'touristy' Geothermal attractions.
Make sure to visit their cafe to try their Hangi Pies - what a fantastic meal!

We were lucky enough to catch a cultural performance, which was wonderful. What a talented group. It was incredibly interactive and they even taught us how to use the Poi, and to do the Haka!

THANK YOU to all of the staff, and Paora (Chief).
Oh, and make sure to try their special Geothermal cooked sweet corn!
