Owner description: The experience of rolling down a hill inside a giant inflatable ball has been an iconic adventure experience since Andrew and David Akers developed the first operation in the world in Rotorua back in 1997. Rotorua remains the ONLY location in New Zealand where you can experience this amazingly fun and bizarre activity. With a new site just 5 minutes from the town centre with a hill that is almost twice as long, you can ride with 1, 2 or 3 people inside the same H2OGO (with warm water in winter or cool water in summer),race against your friends, or try the Harness OGO where you are securely strapped in and sent rolling head over heels through the trees down our custom designed harness track.OR … try our BRAND NEW ride; THE FISHPIPE!A new and unique type of water ride where you slide for over 600 metres! Further than the longest water-slide in the world!Up to 3 riders, 75 litres (20 gallons) of water and a barrel that spins at up to 45 revolutions per minute (although we can slow it right down for the kids and those of you with nervous dispositions.)If you’re riding solo, you can slide, try to run inside, or even try surfing on your feet. With 2 or 3 riders inside you slip and slide together in a tangled mess ... backwards, sideways, frontwards, upside-downwards and whose-foot-is-that-in-my-mouthwards.Open 364 days from 9:00 to 5:00pm in all weather conditions, do not miss out on this unique New Zealand invention. No bookings necessary.

We were in the winter months, so we were somewhat hesitant about the water. But the crew filled the chamber with hot water. They were very funny and really friendly. The course has a straight run where you can race the group in the other ball, but there is also a meandering course if you enjoy the directional changes. Definitely a splurge that was worth it.

I loved loved doing Ogo. It's ah ugh ball you are zipped up in with a little bit of water and down the hill you go .I did 2 rides- the straight-down the hill and the sidewinder. I highly recommend both as they are different experiences. I was impressed with how much Iloved this activity and it is extremely safe and you really don't get that dizzy. They have hot tubs at both the top and the bottom should you need them. The ride is only like a minute or so but worth the money. If you have a go - pro bring it but if not they will let you use on of theres and you can buy the video should you want to . The sidewinder is more of a thrilling ride while the straighdown the hill is not as thrilling but still fun. If you have never done Ogo do it in NZ- highly thrilling and like being on a huge slip and slide but only in a ball. I also purchased a t-shirt and shorts and they have held up nicely so I can speak for the merchandise as well as the experience . Just do it- you won't regret it.

OGO are very large balls that you climb into, the opening gets zipped up and you come down a hill. Just like on Amazing Race. FUN! FUN! FUN!
There are two routes down, one is a straight line which allows you to go faster. The other is a zig zig curvy line which is a different experience. You get to choose whether you want the straight line or the zig zag. The staff is very very friendly and helpful. There is a bit of warm water in the ball when you climb in - this helps you to not stick to the vinyl. Since you are now wet, there are hot tubs at both the bottom and the top of the hill to keep you warm while you are waiting for your next turn. There is also a "warming hut" a heated shed at the top. You never get too cold. Even if you don't have shorts or a bathing suit with you don't worry they will rent yo shorts, T-shirt and a towel for a very reasonable price. They take pictures and in some runs give you a go pro to video your trip down the hill. Later you can buy these photos/video.
This place OGO is far better than the one down the street. Newer balls and better routes down the hill.

Chose Ogo over Zorb based on the reviews. Their ride is also longer in length and time. Initially just wanted the kids to have a go, but the wife and I ended up going ourselves. FUN! The hot tubs are an added treat! Helpful and cheerful staff!
