We stayed here for two nights during our NZ trip from Australia.
On checking in staff were friendly and helpful.
Parking was available undercover. The car spot was a good size but the manoevering to get in the spot was a little bit tight. A small car as we had- should have no problem at all.
All rooms are upstairs. However the stairs are not as steep as some I have used.
The motel location is great and quiet for sleeping. You can easily walk to everything up the street- restaurants, supermarket, cafes, the ferry, the beach, etc.
The rooms are named from towns in Austria - we stayed in 'Innsbruck'. The room was large and spacious. There was a comfortable couch to relax on and a coffee table. Plus a table and chairs. The bed was also nice and comfortable. There were extra pillows, blankets, a fan and heater also in the room.
The kitchen had everything you really needed to cook in the room, (which we did) however a few more tools would be good. There was no spatula to use with the frypan. A BBQ was available downstairs as well, with all required items – which we also used. The fridge freezer in the kitchen had not been defrosted for some time it seemed. 4 bowls of ice had to be scraped out of the freezer section before anything could fit inside it. A larger bin would have been nice- especially as it has cooking facilities – so you tend to create more rubbish.
The shower was good with no temperature or pressure changes.
The available free internet was very good.
A window blind in the kitchen would be nice, as if you leave the kitchen door open people walking past your front door can see right inside the apartment through to your lounge-unless you keep the kitchen door closed.
The only downer here was that we ran out of toilet paper and had to ask for some (which they were apologetic). Could have been a sticky situation!!
All in all a great place to stay, and would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.
