We stayed in a second floor apartment looking out to the beach. Unfortunately it was noisy being on the main road in and out. Apartment was clean but bathroom was looking dated. Staff at reception were helpful. Pool was closed one day.
Other reviewers have pointed out Edgewater’s assets — parking, pleasant view, good furniture and room sizes. But we were paying $800 per day so we expected more excellence than we got. Rooms are cleaned once in three days. Coffee is dispensed as if it were precious gems. The view comes at the cost of endless traffic noise. Our apartment had a defective TV and clock.

We are sorry to hear that your time at Edgewater was not what you expected.
Yes are apartments are only serviced every 3 days. This has been the case for 15 years and is clearly advertised on all web sites. These are full liveable apartments - not a motel or hotel room. 99% of our guests like the fact that they are not disturbed and can feel like they are in their own home environment. Obviously this is not what you were looking for. On request we would have been happy to change towels etc although there are plenty of extra's available in the dressing room.
Our office has supplies of all stocks that are readily available at any time during office hours or a quick call to reception after hours and we are happy to bring up to any apartment at any time.
I am thinking endless traffic noise that maybe you were with us over the Waitangi period where the traffic was continual all day and late into the afternoon. We are on the waterfront with a road directly in front and, yes, cars do use this main route into and out of town.
With regards your clock that was replaced immediately it was brought to our attention. Re the TV it was the 2nd TV in the bedroom. The main 42" Tv was fine. We did explain that we were waiting for someone to come over to fix it.
Unfortunately we cannot please everyone. I am happy to say thousands of guests have stayed with us over the summer session and had an amazing time. I'm sorry you did not have the same experience.
The fact that we upgraded you for your stay is a little upsetting and also the fact that when you left you did not convey any of the above to us in person but used Trip Advisor to do so.

Fabulous apartments, sparkling clean , spacious, modern , high quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings and the kitchen was so well equipped. Right across for the beach so the Location is great . On check in we had an unwell 6 year old with us so i phoned ahead to see if we could check in early and the receptionist was fantastic and organised an early check in so we could get settled quickly . ! Felt like i got 5* treatment !!
Highly recommend these apartments. The apartments were fantastic and had everything you need but the pool was the highlight for us!! Nothing beats a cooling dip after a day of mountain biking.
Close to the beach, restaurants and all other amenities. Easy drive to the mountain bike park.

We were there for a family celebration at a restaurant next door ... very handy!! The staff were very friendly and very obliging. We changed our booking from a 1 bedroomed to a 2 so my mother could stay with us .. no problem whatsoever. The room was HUGE. Big everything. The double room had a huge walk in wardrobe plus ensuite. The other room had twin beds. Ample sized lounge and a couch comfy and big enough for an adult to sleep on if needed. We had a good sized outdoor deck with furnishing. It overlooked the large pool and we had an ocean view . The room lacked for nothing. Iron and board, plenty more pillows and blankets, vaccum cleaner etc. Right across the road from the beach. Carparking underneath. Would definitely recommend this with the restaurant/cafe next door catering for every meal. Superb stay, only wised it was for longer.
So pleased your stay was a good one...sunshine everyday helps as well.
Our apartments are definitely spacious and have everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
