Stayed at Bay Cabinz for 3 days, the cottage was colorful, clean and functional. Bed was very comfortable and the deck had a bit of seaview, nice to have coffee there in the morning!
Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Enjoyed our stay!

We stayed in one of the cabins here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The unit itself was extremely clean, spacious, well-equipped and practical in its layout. It was SO easy for us to be comfortable there. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and the whole place had a very relaxed vibe. We were able to walk everywhere in town from our cabin, which was a pleasure. We highly recommend Bay Cabinz and would love to come back and visit again!

Set out as individual cabins with decks. The layout of the cabins is interesting as it’s built on the side of a hill. There are little paths to each one. It’s very cute. The cabin interior is very clean and tidy although a little dated. Bed is comfortable. There are limited cooking facilities but enough available to make a decent meal if you choose to.
The shower pressure was excellent. My cabin had a nice view to the bay and sitting on the deck in the afternoon sun was great.
The Cabinz are located opposite a primary school but noise was minimal. It is a short walk down to the water and the town centre.
Would recommend to stay if you’re looking for something individualistic, quiet and private.

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The motel is within easy walking distance of the shops and the ferry. It was cold outside but the unit had a great heater. Loved the view and the privacy.
Room tip: This motel is set on a hill with a lot of stairs - ask for Unit one for minimal stairs and great views.

Bay Cabinz is a Motel, but is unusual in that each of the Rooms is a detached accommodation unit giving an extra sense of privacy. Each cabin is comfortable and clean and the owners are very friendly and helpful. If I'm ever back in this area I would definitely stay again.

This place had everything we wanted for an overnight stay in the Bay of Islands. We were welcomed by the owners and shown to our cabin. They were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cabin itself had everything to be self sufficient for the night and the roof fan was heavenly. On top of all this the location was superb. Everything was within walking distance, including the Wharf for a boat trip and the restaurants. We can also recommend ‘Only Seafood’ for an evening meal as it was the best fish I’ve ever had.
The icing on the cake for this place was being allowed to leave our car there during the day whilst on our boat trip to save on parking charges. (may not be possible in peak season but worth asking)
