This hotel is in a very good position close to the water front , close to Restaurants and shops, the room's are large with basic bathrooms, the breakfast was included, I only stayed for three days and it was just what I needed, the swimming was very nice with sun loungers to relax on. there is a laundry room.

We were booked in to this motel for 4 nights. On the day we moved into the room it was obvious that the floor had not been vacuumed and there were hairs on the ledge of the bath. We didn’t make a fuss as we assumed it would be done the next day but it wasn’t. Housekeeping had also left only one towel between 2 of us and less than half a roll of toilet paper. They didn’t bother to clean the bathroom as they left a damp flannel on the bath and the hairs were still there. They also still hadn’t vaccummed. We complained to reception and we were assured the room would be cleaned thoroughly the next day. To our astonishment the next day it was even worse! They still hadn’t vaccummed, they hadn’t cleaned the toilet or the bathroom and left the damp bathmat on the floor which I had put there when I had a shower that morning. By this point we were extremely annoyed and asked someone on reception to come have a look. He agreed that the standard of housekeeping was not acceptable. He apologised and moved us to a junior suite. To be fair this suite was very nice but the fiasco of the previous 2 days has left us with a bad impression of this motel and we wouldn’t stay there again. Even when cleaning the junior suite it took housekeeping 10 minutes only. When looking for accommodation hygiene and cleanliness is very important to us and you would think it would be for the hotel but obviously not!

This hotel is situated right in the heart of Paihia and facing the waterfront and literally 25 meters to the nearest restaurant and bar on the strip. You can’t find a better location in Paihia. The rooms are well equipped with a great air conditioner, large beds, mini fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, but the cleanliness of the rooms lets this hotel down. When we checked in, the carpet between the two beds was very wet? The fridge contents from the previous occupants were left behind and the fridge was stained with food. The light above the vanity was flickering which should have been picked up by house keeping and the bedside tables had rings left behind from cups and glasses and were not wiped down and the toilet did not seem to be cleaned and smelt. The toilet is in a separate room where the shower and bath is located in, and this room was clean and the towels were clean. It appeared that house keeping were selective in what they cleaned in the room. We did report the flickering light and food left in the fridge and the Manager of the hotel who was lovely and dealt with the issues in a very timely manner. The staff at the hotel are friendly and efficient. The pool is great and you have a view of the waterfront from the pool. There is plenty of parking at the hotel.

Great location, but the cleanliness and the limited WIFI let the hotel down. With the WIFI the Quota of 50MB of free data is too small considering the cost of what you pay for the room and other hotels in the area provide free unlimited WIFI.

Hi there,
Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it and I am very sorry for the less than optimum service on your room, this is unacceptable and I will pass this onto our Housekeeping Manager to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our visit. So handy to the wharf for excursions and also close to Waitangi.
The swimming pool was a bonus for our grandchildren.
Good facilities with a bar and restaurant by the pool

Wonderfully situated on the sea front Kingsgate is ideally situated for access to Russell, Waitangi and other centres while being handy for Paihai's shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was spacious, modern, well equipped and well serviced during our three-day stay. The front desk staff were excellent as were the bar staff.
