What a lovely place to stay. We had a suite and beautiful view of the water. Meals were delicious and staff very friendly. Recommended for short or long stay. Prices also good. Short walking distances to shops or catch the ferry to Russell.

Once again we have enjoyed a couple of nights at this hotel. This time we were in a first floor room which had two double beds and an en suite shower room. Everywhere was very clean with furnishings, bedding and towels of a high standard. The shower was great with plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was included in our booking. This was perfectly adequate with fruit, yoghurt, cereals plus a hot buffet and toast, crossoants and preserves. The dining room staff were polite and unobtrusive, the dining room was definitely not busy so we were able to get a table by the window each day which allowed us to enjoy the fantastic views out into the bay.
The weather was not warm enough to actually utilise the outdoor pool but we did sit in the pool area which was neat and well sheltered.
The one downside to this hotel is the fact that you only get 30 minutes of free wifi per day and that is only available in the lobby AND has to be used in one session!! This is pretty archaic in this day and age but unfortunately it seems to be typical of the Millenium group of hotels.
However even that downside would not prevent us from staying here again. The hotel is well situated, convenient for shops restaurants and the ferries and pleasure cruises on offer.
All the staff we interacted with were pleasant and friendly.

Great location - right on the waterfront. Excellent parking. Definitely ask for a ground floor unit. We had some minor problems, but overall it's okay. Breakfast isn't really worth it. There are a couple of good cafes just a short walk away. Wifi free for first 30 mins or 50 MBs.

Nice hotel comfortable beds all you need but a microwave would have been very useful.
We found it disappointing that you are only allowed half an hour free internet. The rooms are large enough and are off reasonable standard. Our deal included breakfast which was ok. We would recommend this hotel and would stay again when back in the area.

We had two nights in the Kingsgate while exploring the area. The rooms were clean and functional with all needed for a short stay, and the bar/bistro was welcoming and had an excellent view across the bay.

The hotel was at the edge of the town and a short walk to the ferries, so this was a very convenient location for exploring the area.

Certainly not five star, but I would definitely use this hotel again if in the same area.

Room Tip: There was nice outdoor pool but not heated - which would be good in summer
