The most amazing thing I did on my month trip to New Zealand. The staff was amazing, the boat and rooms clean, and there was always something to keep us occupied. One of the best things is meeting people from all over the world. Swimming, snorkeling, target shooting, night kayaking, and the list goes on. If you are in Northern NZ, this is a MUST!

I did this on Wednesday and had the best time! In the space of 22 hours I did three things I have never done before! The guys were so great and got everyone joining in but no pressure to if you didn't want to! It was such a great couple of days. If there's one thing you do while in New Zealand it should be this, without a doubt!!

I have been in New Zealand for awhile now and finally got to go on the overnight cruise, Rock The Boat, Bay of Islands on the North Island. Yep.... winter is in full force this year around the country but I must have done something right in a past life as the sun doth shined making our experience out there A-MAZE-ING!
However, just cause we had spectacular weather (we even snorkelled!!!) doesnt mean if it's overcast or even raining that your experienced will be dampened. It's the staff that make the experience and from the word go, they look after you so well and make sure your entertained from start to finish.
The Aussie duck shooting (it was a Tasmanian duck... it's ok people, it's plastic!) to fishing for snapper (or eel in our case), snorkelling for kina (NZ sea urchin) to tasting it....night kayaking, walks and views from atop of one of the 144 Islands to just chillin' out by the fire.... there is always something to do! The rooms are comfy, the meals are delicious and the views, no matter what the weather, are stunning.
Well worth a trip out of the main tourist hot spots....get up to the Bay and really experience the Bay of Islands with ROCK THE BOAT

We really enjoyed our trip on the Rock. The activities were great (we went in May so I thought it would be too cold to snorkel and kayak, but everyone got into the spirit of it!)..saw phosphorescence in the water at night, just magic! The staff were all lovely, very attentive and professional and good for a chat! Comfortable double room, great to wake up with a water view. Fantastic value for money. We will definitely be recommending this trip to others!

What a fantastic way to spend the best part of 2 days. We were greeted on the wharf by Nathan, and then shortly after, johnny turned up and got us over to The Rock to start the trip. Once everyone was on board, we cast off, and headed out into the bay to spend the night. Fishing lines got set almost immediately with the shooting of the plastic duck quickly following.

Once we arrived at our anchorage for the night, fishing rods were broken out, and although only one person caught a fish, fun was had by all. Dinner quickly followed, with night kayaking shortly after, followed by a few hardy souls (myself and one of the crew whose name I promptly forgot) jumping into the rather chilly water for a couple of laps around the boat.

Next morning, woke up to the engines firing up, and heading out from our anchorage for breakfast and a short hike, followed by kayaking and snorkeling, then back to the boat for lunch and the cruise back to paihia.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to see the bay of islands. (Bring a camera. You'll probably regret it if you dont)
