Ambience was nice. Sat outside with view of ocean. Food was over priced for what we received and not overly tasteful.

After Covid days we returned here.
Same perfect service, choices and atmosphere as experienced before. Each time we returned (mostly every day) we enjoyed this place with it's own special attractions: staff, food, service, simple but perfect system.

Just what we needed - a choice of fresh fish cooked superbly to order. This restaurant has something very special going for it. The garlic bread was amazing and the oysters were lovely.
It was so good we visited two nights in succession. One of our best food experiences in our NZ trip.

Awesome mussel fritters so light and delicate, the beer battered gurnard was a lovely golden colour as were the chips. Loved that they had curry sauce and it was a hard choice to pass on the mushy peas. Also great to see they had vinegar which is usually lacking in New Zealand . Super friendly staff who care about their clientele. Do yourself a favour and have a Friday chippy tea, or even a Saturday or Sunday chippy tea.
