We went to Silky Oak on a tour from a cruise ship. The coach was met by a smiling lady with a tray full of chocolates for us to try - delicious. We then went in to the factory to be shown how the chocolates are made which was fascinating.
A visit to the chocolate museum followed where we found out that one Pope thought the chocolate drink so horrible he decreed it could be drunk during Lent!
There are several shops on the site, with a gift shop as well as the necessary chocolate shop. We bought chocolates that were not cheap, but were wonderful allowing us to relive the visit over several careful days! We did not go to the cafe, but understand from others on the trip that the food and drink there was excellent.
All in all a great stop on the tour - and we were given more chocolates as we left.
