We've stayed in a number of motels during our stay in NZ and all have been more than adequate. That is until we had the misfortune of staying at the Fountain Court Motor Inn. The location is good being close to amenities but that is the only positive. The room was extremely tired, the toilet flushed continuously, the kitchenette taps were hard to turn off and there was a horrible smell that despite trying to air the room we couldn't get rid of. This was reported to reception who promised that the maintenance man or one of the builders onsite would attend whist we were out. They didn't. A second trip to reception to ask for tea bags also never materialised. Poor show Fountain Court...

Positives first -good location, very friendly receptionist, off street parking
Not so good- tired and dated, tatty, over priced compared to others in the area
It was quiet although quite full of guests including a coach party.
This motel is in need of updating. We stayed one night and cancelled the second!
Especially dispapointing as this was recommended by the Tourist Information office in Napier.

Had a couple of nights at the Fountain Court and liked it. Check in was quick and efficient and the room was a good size. Bathroom was a little dated and there was only single glazing on the windows. We were there for the heatwave which is unusual and there is no air con in the room. We had a fan which did cool the room down though. Beach is a few minutes walk away and the town is about a 10 minute walk, so overall a very good location.
