We spent 3 nights here on the top floor enjoying sea views and beside a few noisy Harley's (grrrr) a great sleep. The rooms are spacious and they have excellent double glazing for sound proofing and quiet air conditioning units. The super king size beds are extremely comfortable as are the pillows and the linen is good quality. The shower was really good and we will be putting the same shower head in our new home on the strength of it. There is good storage area in the bathroom for a couples toiletries, good towel racks (yep, some hotels provide nowhere to hang your towels. A wee pet peeve of mine) and good qualities towels. There is a large wardrobe area to hang your clothes with plenty of hangers . A small kitchenette is provided with fridge ,microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. The coffee provided is of an excellent standard! There is plenty of room to store your luggage and 2 chairs and 2 lounge chairs for relaxing in front of a large flat screen TV.
Even though it was a busy long weekend of the hotel we had absolutely no neighbor disturbance. Bliss.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with ample information to enjoy this wonderful town including cycle paths info etc.
There is ample covered parking and bike racks provided at the back of the garage.....but DO take your bikes off your roof rack before entering the underground car park. Why? ....figure it out for yourselves!
Opposite the hotel there is a great bar/restaurant and we frequented it several times as it was directly on the beach and offered great views and a friendly casual environment.
There a several good restaurants within easy walking distance and some nice shops. The Whales Tale is a 3 minute walk away. If you have never been in there you must! Its a treasure trove.
What we also loved about this location was that it is right on the cycling paths leading you, well leading you just about everywhere! 10 minutes to town (30 minute walk?) and directly to the winery trails and all the way down the coastal route to Haumoana. The cycle ways are a credit to this town. They are safe wide they all go somewhere!!
Would we stay here again? Most definitely.
