We normally stay with family when we are in Napier but due to a big family gathering there was no room for us so we had to stay in a motel. I picked Pania Lodge based on the reviews on Trip Advisor and I wasn't disappointed. It is a quiet, clean motel with generous sized rooms and the bed was comfy and the shower was powerful and hot which are the 2 things I rate a motel on. Easy drive into the city and the owners were really friendly and accommodating as we had driven up from Wellington and got there quite late at night and they waited up for us. I would definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights and we were very pleased with the motel. The room was clean and the bedding spotless. The owner, John, could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The motel is situated on one of the main roads into Napier and so access to the town is easy. As we were there during the Deco festival, it gave us a quiet place to rest away from the hustle and bustle. There is no a/c but using the opening windows allowed for good flow of air. It is beside a park so there are good views of mature trees from some of the rooms.

Room tip: Rooms 7, 8 and 9 have the best views but are nearest to a fairly busy road.

If you are looking for a simple motel, with all the basic facilities. then this is the one. All cooking facilities...2 burners, m/wave, pots, pans & dishes. Very central location for Napier area, close to main express-way. This place is outstanding value for money.
Comfortable beds, good shower, separate toilet, excellent tv and coverage,

What a wonderful motel to run away to. Many thanks to John & Ann for making our get away enjoyable. We decided to get away from Wellington for a couple of nights of piece & quiet, found Pania Lodge through the internet & enjoyed the reviews so made the booking. Wonderful little motel, quiet, nice & close to central Napier shops etc. Will definitely stay again.
Many thanks Graeme & Cat.

We stayed at this motel for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The room was pretty large and had a table and chairs. The kitchen area had a microwave and full fridge and the bathroom area was big with a good shower. The room was immaculate and was really good value for money. At first we found the hosts quite reticent and weren't able to give recommendations as to what to do in the area but during our stay they were able to tell us a bit more about things and are really nice helpful people. We had a room close to the road which had quite a lot of traffic on it but that didn't annoy us. There were other rooms behind which would have been quieter. The location was quite far out of town and no restaurants within walking distance but if you have a car that doesn't matter and the location was reflected in the very good price of the room. We were sad to leave this motel and the area. If you are looking for a good value, clean, friendly motel and don't mind it being a couple of miles from the centre of town then this if for you. I would certainly stay here again if I was coming to Napier.

We stayed at the Pania in the back 2x bedroom unit. It was very quiet and very clean. Nice comfortable beds. The only comments I have to make are that the Guide for the motel was incorrect about what sky channels they had avaliable and I was told that it was an outdated guide. Also the ashtray outside the slide door of the unit was absolutely full from the previous guests that had stayed. Couple of windows didnt open as the latches were broken but hey these are minor things as the price was great and it was clean.
