Well maintained wide pathways, pretty green space and too many chickens-haha! Lots of chicks currently. Parking lot and toilets at the start.

We have been planning a trip to visit for sometime. However, the weather dissuaded us.
Having had a drier spell we headed over and had a wonderful wander around. The paths are well formed for wet or dry weather. There are many spots for picnics or to sit and enjoy the environment.
If you have food watch out for the many chickens & roosters!

This surprising attraction is just minutes from the Hamilton City western boundary. This is a mature garden with lake. There are many many interesting trees and other plants to look at. It is a beautiful quiet tranquil place. There are sunny lawns for the picnic. I am looking forward to returning with a picnic and a good book, finding a peaceful place in the gardens, and having a truly relaxing bit of "me" time.

On a recent Sunday - Father's Day actually. - four of us,a mixed group including my 14 year old Grandson and two International homestay students and me , a retiree , took a 15 minute drive from Hamilton city out to the Taitua Arboratum Well signposted and easy to find I was interested to revisit after a few years absence - We spent A very pleasant hour and a half strolling through the well maintained pathways and grounds and noting the different trees and birds/ animals Happy to see many family groups enjoying the countryside ramble, and a good number taking the family dog ,on a lead ,with them for a walk - A Roosters's Paradise , but all seemingly co-existing happily with many different variety of fowl and water birds , Very bucolic setting with cattle to view behind fences but closeup ,so a very pleasant and interesting afternoon - A great asset to the city and we are fortunate to be able to enjoy this free oasis so nearby and easily accessible that was gifted to us - Thankyou to the Mortimers -
