This restaurant was highly recommended to us by friends. Well they were right. Superb dining at its best. Nice comfortable atmosphere, professional friendly staff. Oysters, duck, pork and desserts accompanied by wines made for awesome dining. Tasty flavours and well presented. Not rushed and with enough time between courses, attentive staff checked on beverages throughout the evening. It was our Wedding Anniversary and I had booked the table three weeks prior. First class experience

I have had a number of meals at Victoria Bistro, the food and wine is the best in Hamilton as is the service. Victoria Bistro has an excellent menu and great wines to match and priced accordingly. If you are after a really good dining experience, this is the place to go. Located on the south end of Victoria St, in the restaurant and bars district of Hamilton, great location. Parking can be an issue.

My husband and I went in for lunch specifically for the chicken parmagiana. We had been reminiscing about a trip to Melbourne and the wonderful, hearty chicken parma that was featured in so many of the Italian restaurants there, a quick online search showed that the Victoria Street Bistro offered chicken parma, and a parking spot opened up directly in front of the restaurant. It was fate!

The menu describes the chicken parma as: "parmesan and panko crumbed chicken, prosciutto, fresh tomato sauce, crisp baby cos hearts ". Imagine our surprise to discover that this is a salad! The chicken is crumbed, fried, sliced, and set on a bed of lettuce. There is a tablespoon of tomato sauce--no exaggeration--a couple of transparently thin slivers of parmesan and prosciutto, and then salad dressing over the lot.

To be fair, the chicken strips were nicely done--but this was NOT chicken parma. If I had wanted a witty deconstruction of chicken parma I would have ordered that, and I certainly wouldn't have eaten at the VSB if I had known that they don't actually serve the dishes that are listed on the menu.

We always look forward to our dining experience at Victoria Street Bistro. We've been there many times and not once have we been disappointed. The menu offers a range of meals to suit most tastes, the meals arrive in perfect condition and taste amazing. Top service from experienced staff. And enough space not to feel crowded.
Forget about the Wi-fi - savour the experience!
