My family have just returned from 4 nights at this lovely complex. We did not shop around as we stayed here last April & returned because the atrium is second to none. It was just as comfortable, squeaky clean & welcoming as we remembered. Steve & his staff are wonderful, very friendly & nothing is ever a problem. The unit was nice and warm & very quiet - don't worry about room noise - there isn't any!

We are Americans travelling down to Waitomo Caves, we wanted a comfortable overnight stay for family of 4. We had a 2-bedroom apartment. The hotel is on a strip of many motor lodges--not much to look at from the outside and at first gave the impression of being shabby. But on closer inspection of the room everything was brand new - - impeccably clean refrigerator and dishes, towels, bathroom was delightful, with excellent water pressure and heat, super good hair dryer. I particularly liked the shampoo and bath gel -- not the usual Suave shampoo as in most hotels. Two flat screen TVs. The management was kind enough to turn on the heat in advance of our arrival. The rooms were quiet. Also a nice touch was the free pint of milk to go with the in-room packets of coffee and hot chocolate (plunger coffee). Beds were super comfortable.
There is wi-fi in the room but complimentary coupon gives you about only 200 mb so we used the internet only to look up driving directions and a restaurant.
The front desk people were not from around here, so they could not make any restaurant recommendations. There is a Guide Book in the room with restaurants and takeaway menus, but we found it too late. (FYI we went to the Keystone)
Thanks for the great stay!

Friendly owner/staff on the front desk. Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Off street parking space outside room. Location was fine if you have a car, a bit of a walk to town if not. Despite being next to an arterial road the room was quiet.

We searched the net for our one night stopover in Hamilton and saw a set of very detailed and appealing photos and said that's fine. The photos told the truth; the motel is light in decor, clean and airy and the rooms are very spacious. On arrival we were also impressed with the building style. A cathedral-like atrium made for an equally appealing reception foyer. The Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good quality, only $12 each and delivered on time. Most of the kitchen items were near new and a lot of thought had gone into unit layout. Just one small matter one TV had poor picture quality. But a huge plus for the Atrium, if you are a racing fan, it has Trackside TV.. While there are many motels on Ulster we were within walking distance of some very good restaurants and not far from the city centre. Vanessa & Tulipa B

Room tip: Two levels, so that may be something to consider

A modern and clean and tidy room. Everything for a short stay including a well equipped gym and a cost effective laundry service.
Good size comfortable bed. .
We were there in winter and we found the room nice and warm .
If you like clean and fresh and great value and device Atrium is highly recommended.
