Five garden collections have been created to delight the senses, with some garden concepts reaching back 4,000 years. It is internationally recognised for its unique concept and is the Waikato region's most popular tourist destination. Only five minutes drive from Hamilton's CBD, the Gardens is open 7 days a week during daylight hours and entry and parking is free. Access is off SH1, alongside Cobham Drive on the southern side of Hamilton.

Very well laid out and easy to walk. The international gardens are gorgeous and the Rose Garden is just on the other side of the gift shop. Located along the Waikato River makes the experience a must see for anyone going to Hamilton. Maps are available in the gift shop for a coin but re not a necessity. Free admission.

Always a beautiful venue that's constantly improving. Am looking forward to seeing what it has in its future.

It seems that three quarters of the gardens are still yet to be completed with a lot still only in planning stages.

Having said that though, it's a testament to how large the grounds are that there's still so much to see and explore.

I stopped in Hamilton on the way through purely to visit this place and it did not disappoint one bit despite seemingly being unfinished.

It's probably by far one of the best gardens I have ever visited and has so much to offer every visitor.

There's no entry fee, however donations are greatly appreciated (a map of the gardens is a $2 donation).

I would highly recommend visiting and I would definitely love to visit it again in a few years when the other garden exhibits are completed.

Thank Paul H

We stopped at Hamilton gardens on our way to Auckland from Rotorua as part of a wider tour. We had a guided tour which was very good. The gardens are themed on an international basis and landmarks. The English Garden was just like seeing the shrubs and bedding plats we have at home. One of my favourites was the India theme and the renaissance garden. It is well thought through and bigger than it looks upon entry. We also had lunch laid on and it was very good. A well worth stop on our travels to Auckland.
