Owner description: Explore an enchanting world of secret gardens. Transport yourself through time and to far-flung corners of the world. Meander through a lush tropical jungle, visit ancient China and indulge yourself in a Renaissance Prince's 16th century garden. Five garden collections have been created to delight the senses, with some garden concepts reaching back 4,000 years. Hamilton Gardens is a conceptual garden based in the Waikato that explores the context, history and meaning of gardens through time, and from around the world. It is internationally recognised for its unique concept and is the Waikato region's most popular tourist destination. Only five minutes drive from Hamilton's CBD, the Gardens is open 7 days a week during daylight hours and entry and parking is free. Access is off SH1, alongside Cobham Drive on the southern side of Hamilton.

“Fabulous Gardens”
Reviewed 27 January 2016

Hamilton Gardens is an excellent place to wander through the various garden rooms which are both lovely and varied. Maps of the gardens are provided free and all they ask is that you make a donation so that the gardens can be maintained in the future. Favourites of ours were the Indian Cha Bargh and Tudor Gardens which held particular interest for us. The Rose Garden was not only extensive but in full bloom with mass plantings of colourful rose bushes everywhere you looked. There is ample shade to relax and enjoy a picnic or you can drop into the Cafe. New gardens are being created so there is a frequently changing list of gardens to view. We will definitely return to Hamilton Gardens and can highly recommend it as a place to visit.

Reviewed 26 January 2016

wow,it,s amazing to see such a wonderful space made on an old rubbish dump site,so it,s like the frog that kissed the princess.the gardens are a pleasure to see and all family friendly and most accessible by wheelchair too.everyone has their favorites but now its getting harder as the newer gardens are opening up.the new Tudor garden is great.we took two days and did 4 hours each day to see most of them.

Reviewed 25 January 2016

I'm a nature lover and prefer the wild forests, but Hamilton Gardens is so stunning with its different types of Gardens from different cultures and countries, as well as kitchen- and backyard gardens. It is a must if you visit Hamilton.
