Great central location, Excellent staff, very impressed with hotel room as had
everything I needed for the 1 night that I was there. Checking in and checking out was done with lovely and helpful staff, Continental breakfast was plentiful and very impressive . Keep it up Ventura will be back Thank You.

Stayed at the Ventura Inn & Suites for the first time and was very impressed.
Rooms were spacious and very comfortable with everything you need.
Continental breakfast was very impressive, would be my go to hotel in Hamilton in the future.

We stayed at the Ventura for one night while my mother had surgery.
The staff could not have been any more accommodating, from allowing us early check in to booking shuttles for us. Everyone was approachable and had a smile for us. The hotel itself is lovely, clean with decent sized rooms and bathrooms, good shower pressure and the beds and pillows are so super comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus, with something for everyone from cereals, crumpets, juices, toast, muffins and more.
It’s was very quiet and a superb environment for my mum and me while she was recovering from her operation. We will definitely be back to Ventura!!

I don't know what it is in New Zealand, but overpriced, dated and cold accommodation seems to be the norm. Don't get me wrong, Ventura Inn is not alone, but when paying the astronomical amounts for a room, you'd expect something that represents value.
There is no underlay beneath the carpet. The carpet is stuck directly to a concrete floor. It feels like a fridge.
The room smells - I can't quite work out what it is, but smells like a mixture of cigarette smoke and wee.
Everything is dated. The mattress appears to have collapsed, the chairs are old and scruffy, cabinetry belongs to the 80's and the bathroom does not fare too well in my books.
NZ hotels / motels need to lift their game. "Just OK" is not good enough.
Dear FTLOB, Thank you for your review. It is disappointing that we failed to meet your expectations. We do agree that we need to upgrade however we do try and provide a clean room for our Guests. All our rooms are non smoking and all do have air conditioning to provide heating. We do hope to see you once again when next in Hamilton.
I stayed for 2 nights, after catching the Intercity. It's an easy walk from the city bus terminal, even with a suitcase.
I had a lovely room with all amenities needed for a short stay. The hotel is beautifully modern and clean. All staff are really friendly and happy to assist with advising on places to visit and booking taxis for onward travel, nothing is too much trouble.
The complimentary breakfast is lovely and fresh and there is plenty of choice, cereals, toast, danishes and fresh fruit. Along with as much fruit juice, tea and coffee as you like.
The restaurant area also doubles up as a seating/work area during the daytime. In the evening you are more than welcome to bring in your own food to eat there, with use of a microwave and hotel crockery and plates.
The little pool outside is an added bonus, with a few sun-loungers around it to enjoy the afternoon sun after a dip.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a friendly, clean, great value stay.
