Nothing is every too much trouble for the staff here. Service is great. The grocer store offers some unique boutique food products, most locally sourced from New Zealand. Some great presents I have bought here to gift to foreign visitors. A cool vibe, contemporary, busy place with food that seems to be consistently good. European in style. Exceptional chocolates. Lovely fresh organic produce. You couldn't be disappointed with a stop at this cafe. And they serve wine! Cheers!

I came in Auckland with work on a very short visit, and wanted to have the breakfast outside, and honestly i chose the place randomly, just because i was starving. The ambiance it's lovely, everything looks fresh, and if you want to go for a more healthy option this is the right place. However, i was really impressed by the menu choices, which are very different than what i've seen so far. So if you feel like trying something different, go for it!

We were thrilled to find the Scarecrow after walking the hills of Auckland. Great food and service. We had thyme potato pancakes and the chicken avocado bagel. We'll be back to try their apple strudel and German Christmas cake,

We had dinner here one evening during our Auckland trip. It's styled as an old world grocery store / delicatessen and has a nice ambience. The food was good quality but I thought the portion was a little small, and the price a bit high for what we were getting. While the service and food quality were ok, it is ultimately a dining setup within a shop; I probably wouldn't go back for dinner (as I think we'd get a better meal for a similar price in a full service restaurant), but it would be a good spot for breakfast, coffee or lunch.

I live about 200m away from here and regularly visit. Despite all the great places to eat in Auckland the charm and relaxed atmosphere has made this the regular place I bring friends who are visiting Auckland.
The food is wonderful, with plenty of choice, and it caters to all palates. It's nice to sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle go by, as it's just off Queen Street.
Staff are friendly, and for such a central location it's reasonably priced.
