We spotted the Indochine Kitchen while wandering around that part of town and decided it was somewhere we should visit and did so. What a charmer! The Vietnamese menu is neither too long nor too expensive, the service is excellent and the wine and beer list, while not extensive, is perfect tly fine. All up cost for 3 of us was around $90 including drinks.

Made an online booking that was not confirmed..however, we presented ourselves on time but were questioned about our booking ...till we asked - do we have a table or not (by the way there were many empty tables). Anyway - we were seated at a tiny table for two. Waitress was affable and keen to please. We placed our tapas orders - which all came out at once - no room on the table for more than one dish at a time. We asked for the two courses to be taken back and they were presented to us later cold and soggy. Will not be going back again... disappointed.

Having travelled though Vietnam and tried phõ across several different countries this was by far the worst beef noodle soup either of us has ever had. The broth had no flavour and tasted like it had been made only minutes earlier. The lack of hoisin sauce was also a bit unusual. The pho is served bland and without and traditional accompaniments such as thai basil or bean sprouts. At $15 this was little more than an expensive bowl of hot water and noodles. The most enjoyable part of the meal was the "Bahn mi and pate". Which warrents the single star. After paying we were asked if our meal was okay. After proceeding to tell the staff member it was a poor pho she just agreed it's bland and not "the best". This restaurant concentrates too much on its image and not enough on the food.

Place is easy to find the menu isn't too expensive, just avoid the pho!!!

Michael, all of our dishes, including the pho, are authentic Hanoi Style (Northern). Referencing bean spouts and Hoisin sauce means you are talking about the Southern style. The vietnamese that come to our restaurant all recognise this. There is a clear difference. To get a better understanding, try reading this helpful article:
