We could never say enough good things about this amazing couple and their tour. From the warm emails back and forth with Donna as we planned and booked the tour until the farewell from Stu as he dropped us at our hotel, we felt like special friends. Great food, interesting sights to see, information about their area and a unique way of showing us their sheep farm. We wish them all the best in their retirement years.

Kia ora,
It was great sharing the day with you too!
We are pleased you enjoyed all the great attractions in our region.
Thanks for your wishes... After 15y, yes, it does seem a bit surreal that we only have one month before we retire from our tours, but as we just cannot keep pace with the demands, our businesses; ('Coast to Coast Tours', 'Auckland Private Tours' and 'Auckland Shore Excursions') are for sale.

We trust you enjoy your future travels,
Nga mihi (and Mahalo)
Donna & Stu

we are on the last day of our 8 day hol in Auckland and of all the tours we have taken in the past few days, this is the one my mum rated the highest (and she has travelled a lot!)

what is truly unique about this tour is you dont feel like you are on a tour at all. you hear about Donna and Stu's lives and you get an unique and private view of their lives. its like you have a long time friend welcoming you into their home.

the view of the gannet coloney was amazing as well, lunch was great and omg wait for the delicious dessert. on top of that, sheep farm, orchirds and wine tasting. i think you got it all. oh ... and yes you get your very own tree planted too to contribute back to mother earth. how cool is that!

its has been the most wonderful dispite the weather and the best way to conclude our journey to nz!

thanks Donna and Stu

Hi there Joanne!
Many thanks for your kind comments.
It is especially nice to hear your mum enjoyed the trip too. We are fortunate to be able to provide a good array of activities within our region. It's a close proximity to the city, so there's lots of time "experiencing" without the wasted time of traveling long distances.
We wish you and your mum all the best for the future.

We have one more month before we retire...
Our businesses; ('Coast to Coast Tours', 'Auckland Private Tours' and 'Auckland Shore Excursions') are for sale.

Regards,
Donna & Stu.

Thanks to Stu and Donna for sharing a day with us. Very nice to wander a bit on the North Island, loved seeing the birds (although, yes, they do smell a bit). Lunch was excellent and the final tour of the sheep farm and bird sanctuary were enlightening. Especially appreciated the driving tips, they have been a big help now that we're down on the South Island and are having to get along on our own. Happy Retirement!

Kia ora Cat and Peter,
Thank you for your speedy review! It was lovely meeting you too and learning all about your home in the National Forest (where we could compare many aspects of our own lifestyle). Yes, the Muriwai gannet colony is a bit "stinky" at the moment!!!!!!! Nature at it's best eh? LOL, but the chicks are growing fast and one day they will be off on their way.

Our local community is rioting lately about the exponential influx of tourists being ferried out to the beach and gannet colony (via non-registered operators??).
There is likely to be a big *well-overdue* shake-up ...watch this space ;)

We trust you enjoy the great weather and the rest of New Zealand.

Take care, and thanks for choosing our tour.
Regards,
Donna & Stu.

As a travel agent, I have had the privilege of travel. Of all the tours I have taken in 18 years of touring, nothing compares to this! They are the most wonderful couple I have ever met. She is Maori, a people dedicated to the land and its creatures. Just her tour of her farm , seeing sheep , a goat and a cat named Charley, was so heartwarming! She has a blind bird she has fed every 3 hours for 25 years. She warblers when she whistles!
The tour included a craft store of items made by New Zealanders, not from China. A wonderful wine tasing and lunch. A trip to see the gannets, one of my favorite views! She made pavlova for our tea, planted a tree for our 6 person group, and gave us a picture of our group to remember the day. Like we could ever forget!
She showed us pictures of their family, items found in ground on her farm, volcanic sand with a magnet to show titanium content, a stuffed possum and tales of the critter. So much! Highly reccomend! Paula, Luxe Travel

Kia ora Paula,
We trust your travels are going well. Thank you for your comments.
We are pleased that you enjoyed our tour and the things we show and discus.
We feel we really don't do anything out of the ordinary...and to hear that "nothing compares to our tour in your 18 years" is quite overwhelming.
We have taken your suggestions for our retirement (regarding cruise boats) on board [literally!] and will keep in touch.
Take care, and all the best with your business.

Regards,
Donna & Stu.

We spent the day with Stew and Donna Hamilton and a small group of famous people who just happened to be on our tour. Stew took us everywhere we wanted to go, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and such an amazing person. One of the many highlights was Donna's home-made pavlova at their table in their lovely ranch. So many wonderful moments with them! We hope to see them again on our next trip to their lovely country. I cannot imagine now going there without having them be a part of it. The native tree they planted on behalf of my birthday- amazing and emotional. I have a tree growing in New Zealand! You cannot miss with Stew and Donna!

Kia ora Jill and Craig,
Thank you for your lovely comments!
We are pleased you enjoyed your time on the tour, and Craig did a wonderful job letting us know it was your birthday (…and anniversary), so we did a “special” tree just for you. J60 (a pohutukawa/NZ Christmas tree) is doing just fine and can be found at these co-ordinates in our farm’s Government Registered Reserve:
S36° 48.785' E174° 27.819'

Yes, it is true, (and as you met!), we have had some very famous and interesting people join our tour during our 15 years, however, we hold everyone very special and will have many memories to treasure.
And yes, our farm (-for tours-) will close at the end of April, but we, will still be tilling the soil ;)

Best regards, and safe travels for the future,
Nga mihi,
Donna & Stu.
