You know how sometimes as you get older and have pretty much tried every style of restaurant and type of cuisine both in NZ and internationally you revert back to the tried and true? Well Sails is now where wife and I go to relax, assured in the knowledge that the Chef knows what he is doing, the wait staff are professionals and the owner is generally on site.
The food (not just sea food) is exquisite, beautifully presented and for what you are getting is actually reasonably priced when compared to other haute cuisine offerings.
Great wine list but maybe the best thing is the professionalism of the staff - outstanding.
So the decision to open on Sunday's for lunch is a Godsend for us as busy work and family commitments during the week can be prohibitive when it comes to dining out.
