Description: Sails Restaurant has an amazing location. Set in the middle of Westhaven Marina, beside the Harbour Bridge, with breathtaking views of the harbour. There are few views in the world that capture the essence of the city than the one from Sails Restaurant. A couple of minutes from the centre of Auckland, yet in a world of its own, with unlimited free parking at the door, Sails Restaurant is not just about its location. Over the last three decades the restaurant has forged its reputation as one of New Zealand’s top restaurants through an uncompromising belief in using only the freshest ingredients, the most talented chefs, and professional waiting staff. The menu at Sails is seafood focused, but also includes New Zealand’s finest beef and lamb. The full menu and all the details can be found on our website.

Recent review says stuck in a time warp- well it is if you believe the trick is to get it right and keep it right! And Bart the owner does this. We had a graduation lunch which was perfect. The crayfish special for 2 of us- perfectly steamed, simply presented absolutely fresh. And good value with a free glass of Craggy Range Chardonnay. Starters of the house speciality crispy squid, the fresh snapper ceviche and the seared tuna, again all perfect. Good duck main. Lovely location mercifully away from the chattering classes who all try to pay one by one!! If you don’t appreciate the class of this place then I’m sorry - you just aren’t one of us!! Try a KFC family pack instead.

Took some clients/friends for lunch last month and probably never go there again!!!! We are so spoilt for choice in Auckland, so many wonderful restaurants serving great food with great service. This one, however, is stuck in a bit of a time warp...only male servers which in itself is unusual and then we got stuck with one that was young and too cool for school and the other two looked like they had been there for decades. It was stuffy and pretentious and the only saving grace was the location and the dessert. One to miss unless you are looking for an old boys club vibe!!

Had a lovely night here with family, friends & colleagues. Enjoyed the close up night views of the Harbour Bridge lit up, you can almost see water from most seats. A number of us ordered the beef & were all amazed that it had been cooked so well given the number of us that ordered it, possibly could have done with more potato. Parking was easy - right outside the restaurant. We had a great night.

One of my favourite restaurants in Auckland never fails to deliver spectacular food. Our waiter has been ther 23 years and as always we took his recommendation on matching wines and beers and he does not fail to deliver. Introducing us to new wines and beer and local too! Fabulous food, sensation venue with harbour views and a relaxing and pampered experience. Thank you Saills

We took a taxi from our hotel for our 7:00 PM dinner reservation. The dinning room wasn't really busy and we got a nice table by the window. I had half a dozen raw Bluff oysters and we both had fish for our mains. The wine list was good and we ordered a nice bottle of Shiraz from The Barossa Valley in Australia. The service and food was good but a little on the expensive side and most people probably only go there for special occasions.
