My partner and I stayed here for the weekend and everything was 10/10. The staff were friendly and accommodating - everything was at our finger tips - room service was great - location is perfect! The Skycity hub really is the heart of Auckland city. The room was nice - super comfy bed. Our room had a bath (which was a nice touch). I really rate Metita at Skycity grand.

Stayed here a couple of times, always been ok and suffices, but really gone downhill.
Cons:
Literally terrified of what we were breathing in through these filthy air vents. Forgot to also photograph literal piles of dust and dirt coming down wire gaps in top of wardrobes with spare pillows placed underneath. General carpets look grubby and they're black, so that'll tell you. Corners, sides, by beds, gross. Found old tissues down beside my bedstead. Schmears of who know on kettle, on toilet roll holder. Counted 8 hairs on floors just upon entry. Disgusting marks on walls that could and should be scrubbed off. Caked in grub on couch.
Room service menu offers absolutely zero vegan, it's 2024.
Water not replaced daily.
Not a single non caffeine beverage option in room. When we asked reception for a herbal tea option for room we were told no, order room service. Never in all my life to 1 to 5 star hotels experiencedknows.
No mini bar with drinks or snacks at all.
Big chunky pillows, both had sore necks.
Pros:
Good size bed
Good location in the city
In general noise levels are low apart from a few selfish knobs.
Staff at reception were all very kind, welcoming and helpful.
Whatever hotel checker if giving this 4 stars must be getting some mighty fine perks!

My Uncle & I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while on holiday in Auckland. We arrived in the evening around 7.30pm, the check-in process was smooth and fast. We had booked our rooms through the Agoda website and paid in full at the time of the booking. The hotel did request for a NZD500 security deposit, which they refunded to my credit card a few days later. We booked a twin deluxe and we have no complaints whatsoever. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. All the expected amenities were available in the room: digital safe, electric kettle, coffee, tea, sugar and milk, hairdryer, basic toiletries, flat screen TV, etc. The WiFi and air-conditioning worked perfectly. The buffet breakfast is decent, with many hot and cold options, as well as coffee machines to make yourself some specialty coffees.
The Skycity Casino is located within the same building as this hotel, and inside the casino, there are a number of dining venues available. We dined at the Food Republic, which offers Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Western food.
IMPORTANT TIP: If you are planning on staying here and dining in any of the venues inside the casino, you should sign up for the complimentary Rewards programme for the casino. You will be given a Rewards card which gives you a 10% discount on all your dining bills here. The Rewards card is needed to play on any of the slot machines but you don't have to gamble in order to get the card.
The best thing about this hotel is its location! It is located in central Auckland City, a few blocks from the waterfront(Viaduct Harbour). To get to this hotel from the airport, took the SkyDrive Express Bus which picks passengers up from the Auckland Domestic and International Airport terminals and brings them directly to the bus stop right next to the Skycity Hotel. At this point in time, the 1-way fare for adults is NZD18 and NZD12.50 for senior citizens. We used this service from & to the airport and found it to be extremely convenient and economical. The buses run every 30 minutes both ways. You can pay the bus driver on the spot with a credit card each time, there is no need to pre-book your bus tickets.
All in all, we had an enjoyable stay here and will definitely stay here again on our future trips to Auckland.

Hotel ideally placed for our 4 day visit to Auckland. Easy walk to the main shopping area, 15 mins walk to the harbour, 5 to 10 to Albert Park. Great room, comfy bed, good shower. Main criteria I look for in a room. Good breakfast options, both hot and cold. Breakfast restaurant can get busy, so bear in mind for timings. However, there are plenty of tables. As far as I could tell, and find, there wasn't a late night bar to use for drinks. Unless I was mistaken. Concierge & reception staff v friendly & helpful. Also a facility to leave our bags on checkout until later in the day to collect for our flight.
