Insects Infested Lodge

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 27 Feb 2018
We arrived late at 10:15pm. The Manager was there to hand in our key and to show us the room. He was good. But when we entered our room - 3A - we found that it was infested with flying and crawling insects - mosquitos, heaps of flies and other insects. We had a difficult night but managed with applying soov cream. As the ventillators were hard to close it was difficult to kep the insects away. The bed and mattress were ok, but the insects need to be wips out. Whether it is just a problem in summer or all through the year, I dont know. We will not be staying there any time in the future.

This room was the least clean hotel room I have ever seen. Stains on all surfaces, disheveled look to beds and very tousled blanket type thing covering a terrifically stained sofa, un-vacuumed carpets (noticeable and sizable debris), safety issues such as stacks of mattresses in front of and next to doors making a fire exit nearly impassable. The one smoke alarm was removed from ceiling and had no battery in it. There was no air conditioning. Truly shocking. Asked for refund and the the receptionist who admitted he was the owner of the place refused any part of refund. Unfortunately had booked 2 nights and 2 rooms. I hope others will be duly warned of its current condition.

Room tip: Do not stay here.

An unloved hovel. Mosquito central, with no nets or window covers to combat them. Paper thin walls. No air con or fan. Tiny, insufficient floor space. Stains, cobwebs and grime on walls and ceilings. Good location but utterly horrid establishment. Avoid like the plague, which you may catch if the mozzies are out.

I have travelled a lot and stayed in many hotels/motels but this was the most disgusting experience I’ve ever had!!
They didn’t clean the room in 7 days
They only changed the towels when we demanded it!
Water leaked from the toilet or basin (I had an 83 year old how is prone to falls) and they said we must be showering with the door open but wouldnt accept that we didn't (really!!!)
Wouldn't change the sheets until I demanded and so many other things!!!
I tried to find another place to stay but we're all booked out 😢😢
Here's some photos

Apart from a great location, there is little else to say about this Lodge. Very small room, that was dirty and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. Far too much furniture in the room, leaving little room to move around. The fridge hadn't been cleaned and while the bathroom was quite modern, it was dirty and hadn't been cleaned properly in months. We were there for three nights and no housekeeping was done, although we saw a couple of people, one who was the guy who checked us in, walk past with some cleaning materials. The reception area was filled with all sorts of things, such as vacuum cleaners. Not a good impression! My fiance was asked for his debit card and drivers licence, which were photocopied. Not sure why as we had been charged for our stay immediately after we made our reservation. The grounds were very unkempt and there was a lot of stuff just lying around. We noticed that the fire exit immediately opposite our room was blocked by large pot plants and cars parked right outside, there would be no chance of getting out of this exit. There was a power cord left trailling down the hall way, which I had to push to one side so nobody could trip over it. There were no exit signs anywhere, a real health and safety concern, which needs to be rectified immediately. The office was locked when we arrived, despite the advertised hours clearly notified on the outside. We had to wait several minutes for the man to appear, so we could get our room key. He is a man of very few words. The location is great, handy to plenty of great Parnell eateries and on the bus route for a short trip in to the CBD. It could be a really great place to stay, if someone with vision and drive took it over and revamped the entire complex.

Room tip: Don't bother staying here.
