Apart from a great location, there is little else to say about this Lodge. Very small room, that was dirty and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. Far too much furniture in the room, leaving little room to move around. The fridge hadn't been cleaned and while the bathroom was quite modern, it was dirty and hadn't been cleaned properly in months. We were there for three nights and no housekeeping was done, although we saw a couple of people, one who was the guy who checked us in, walk past with some cleaning materials. The reception area was filled with all sorts of things, such as vacuum cleaners. Not a good impression! My fiance was asked for his debit card and drivers licence, which were photocopied. Not sure why as we had been charged for our stay immediately after we made our reservation. The grounds were very unkempt and there was a lot of stuff just lying around. We noticed that the fire exit immediately opposite our room was blocked by large pot plants and cars parked right outside, there would be no chance of getting out of this exit. There was a power cord left trailling down the hall way, which I had to push to one side so nobody could trip over it. There were no exit signs anywhere, a real health and safety concern, which needs to be rectified immediately. The office was locked when we arrived, despite the advertised hours clearly notified on the outside. We had to wait several minutes for the man to appear, so we could get our room key. He is a man of very few words. The location is great, handy to plenty of great Parnell eateries and on the bus route for a short trip in to the CBD. It could be a really great place to stay, if someone with vision and drive took it over and revamped the entire complex.
