Despite recent-ish development work, Aotea Square is still (in my opinion) a fantastic location but otherwise a waste of space. For events, great. But day to day, there's barely even anywhere to sit - quite surprising.

Aotea Square was very interesting and has some modern art that lights us at night and looks beautiful. During the day you can see the memorial that is humbling. Worth a visit and you can see the other close sights like town square.

There is always something on here. Some kind of market ... an ice rink ... or suchlike.
Unfortunately the vibe can be spoiled by the very loud Christians who try to get there message across on the weekend evenings.
They use loudspeakers... and never stop.
A great square however!!

Piano Stairs is an interactive installation that is guaranteed to charm kids and kids in adult bodies alike. It makes walking upstairs (or downstairs) an unforgettable musical experience.
