Stayed in a private double room with shared bathroom. No lift, which wasn't a great start as the 5th floor was a long climb up. The stairway is very, very narrow and would be highly dangerous if there was a fire. Free snack wasn't available, due to the bar being closed for a private function. The rooms are in mini apartments, with an apartment containing a few dorms and private rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen smelt disgusting and was very dirty. However, it was reasonably well equipped and there were several kitchens, which is convenient in a hostel.
The room itself was sufficient with a fan. However, one WC and one shower was not sufficient for the apartment and these were not very clean. Paid wifi worked well. Was able to stay in the communal lounge after check-out which was quite convenient. There is also luggage storage. There are significantly better hostels in Auckland, in my opinion.
