Quite a pleasant day, but there are clearly signs of decay in the building; and it’s rather difficult to get in and out of this place given that there is so much going on around it. The views were reasonable and the beds were comfortable but this is not a hotel that I will be coming back to.

We stayed here on 2 separate occasions recently and are likely to return next time we’re in Auckland. With one tiny exception, service was great. The door staff (who look after the valet parking), concierge and reception staff are all fantastic. They remembered I had left a case with them when we came back for the second time, which was lovely touch. The bar staff also great (we didn’t have chance to use the restaurants). Both rooms we had were also fab: we had harbour views each time and they are totally worth it. The view is good for the soul! Location also excellent - really central and it’s easy to access everything. I removed one point because when we were there breakfast seemed understaffed and I got the impression the staff had too much on their plates and couldn’t quite keep all the balls in the air. I suspect that was a temporary problem rather than a typical thing though, so it won’t stop us returning.

Have stayed here on a couple of occasions for work events over the years and everything has been great. Always enjoy a warm welcome from the door person!
The rooms are as you'd expect from a Hilton. And it's definitely worth upgrading to a room with a balcony during the summer months.
The hotel is close enough to the action (a few minutes walk to the Viaduct precinct), but far enough away so as to not be affected by noise etc.
Have had both the afternoon tea in the lounge and dined at Fish, and the food, service and views have been consistently lovely on all accounts.

Went to the storm bar/Cafe, the view of the harbour was great but the service was minimal and the food was slow coming to the table with items included on the menu not on the plate.
Not what I would have expected from the Hilton. Sorry but can't recommend this venue for a weekend lunch.

We spent 10 days in NZ and it was a lot of driving around in various hotels but this was our last night before going home and went out with a bang!
I used points only which sometimes changes the attitude of the desk but not here. They treated us terrifically from checkin to checkout.
The hotel is on a pier which was awesome. One thing is that the website says valet only but there was parking there that wasn’t valet. But they offloaded our wagonload of baggage with a smile and loaded it back up as well so I can’t complain.
We checked in on Friday night when they had champagne and opera night. We also had breakfast in the amazing restaurant on the 2nd door with an amazing view of the harbor.
The rooms were nice but backed up on a pool that ran right behind us and the view from there was really nice too. Minibar was overpriced for things that should be complimentary (soda and water) as well as alcohol. But that’s true of all hotels.
Great way to finish our trip, city center a block away with excellent restaurants and bars. I cannot recommend it enough!
