I love eating a Pure, the Chef Owner has a real passion for food and seems to get most pleasure from seeing his customers enjoy it. The restaurant has a real cozy intimate feel and its so easy to just relax and enjoy the experience. The menu has some really unusual twists which are really great and the little surprised add interest to the experience. Highly recommended to anyone who is visiting AUckland and looking for a relaxed pleasurable dining experience.

Awesome spot. Very cute restaurant with friendly dedicated staff. I had sweet breads for entree and John dory for main. They were both presented beautifully and were cooked perfectly. The fish was very fresh, moist and hot. The accompanying salsa was a perfect match. We also had the beef cheeks that were melt in mouth. The desert was terrible. Bits of meringue with defrosted berries. Very dry and messy.

A dinner at Pure Restaurant is always a highlight! The service is outstanding and the owner and chef is a very passionate and this reflects in his food. We love those little touches e.g. a light, tasty foam served with home baked sourdough bread or the home made sorbet served between the courses....Ingredients are fresh and seasonal, the wine list is extensive and offers some unique wines, and as said before, the standard of the service is extraordinary. A highly recommend restaurant, any time, any occasion!

Excellent restaurant and the food was delicious. Service very good. I had crispy skin snapper (fish) and a good choice of vegetables. The dark chocolate creme brulee was very rich but the coffee ice cream made it exquisite.

I've been to Pure about 5 times now, and their faultlessness is getting predictable. How can a place that feels so relaxed and friendly turn out dishes of such precision and finesse?
Dinner starts with a fresh vegetable mousse that arrives at your table unannounced, with bread still warm from their oven. Last night the mousse was carrot-based; on the previous visit it was cauliflower. It's super-light and frothy, and the perfect way for a great meal to begin.
We opted for the set menu: squid with a spicy tomato and avocado salsa; crisp-skinned pork belly with kohlrabi, and Tarte Tatin with home-made ice cream.
And yes, predictably everything was delicious. The squid was lightly cooked and tender, there was only just enough salsa — which had a tasty chilli kick — leaving us satisfied but wanting more. I'd love to describe the way the pork belly melted in my mouth, and the way the slightly crunchy texture of the kohlrabi complemented it, and, oh my god, the crunchiness of the immaculately done crackling, but words fail me. And then there was the Tarte Tatin and ice cream. Simple, but again with the lightest, cleverest touch: occasional hints of orange zest, so subtle that you could almost miss them except that this food makes you pay attention.
This is a classy place, so you also get a palate cleanser between entree and main: a lemon sorbet.
Too good. Stay predictable, Pure, because our expectations are very, very high.
