Pretty disappointing given the positive reviews. I came here for dinner with my partner after reading all the good reviews about the food. However, we ordered a range of starters/mains and I don't think it lives up expectations. To me it felt like Hello Beasty was trying to work towards a standard but just hadn't quite reached it yet. I don't think I would mind as much if the price was more affordable but you are paying quite a lot for not very much. Further to that the service wasn't great, the seats uncomfortable and dozens of dirty glasses were left on the counter near where we were seated for most of the meal. I would recommend saving your money for somewhere that can deliver.

First night in Auckland and wow, standards are now very high for the rest of our trip. The place is cute, with a great upbeat playlist. Service was warm and helpful, without being intrusive. Cocktails were on point. Everything we ate was delicious but the prawn and shrimp toast is definitely a must do! We already made a rez to dine here again on our return to Auckland in a few weeks.

Had a fantastic meal at Hello Beasty. First time customer and will return to try more dishes. Try the fried chicken - super tasty and the chicken very moist. Save room for dessert - donuts were delicious. If you are with a small group, sitting on the high chairs by the kitchen is a great way to get to watch where the magic happens

Dearest gentle readers,

New Zealand is an amalgamation of world cultures far in the east, food is one of the ways where one can experience the beauty of it.
Hello Beasty is one such gorgeous restaurant with lip smacking Asian fusion food.

To start with, boiled edamame was just so flavourful, yours truly couldn’t get enough of it. The charred grilled broccolini was another such marvel, followed by burhata salad and the best ever main dish, moong bean pancake. Every bite of every food ordered was filled with a punch of not so overpowering flavours that makes one feel like going back to this humble place. The staff was so good and attentive even in this packed inn. Overflowing guests wanting to order heaps of food did not keep the staff from being ever so attentive and smiling at all the times.

My dearest readers, Aussie Epicure implores you to visit this culinary delight on your travels to ever so wonderful Auckland.
