The reviews seemed outstanding and on that basis we tried Balthazar. A dozen oysters, cured swordfish to start. Eye fillet and Hapuka for mains (the fish being their market fish of the day special) - excellent. The duck fat potatoes are very good as well. To finish we had a selection of great cheeses and also the valrhona chocolate, caramel, peanut- very good. Best of all was the service, the little things count and the team here are classy. (A throw away comment about it being my Wife’s birthday resulted in a nice little birthday message on the desert plate .(*there were 12 oysters to start with 😁.)
