Years ago it was quite special to go to the theatre, you dressed up and it was classy . Now it is like going to the pub to watch a show. There are no dress standards and people are drunk , rude and no respect for others. They don't monitor patrons drinks or intoxication

I was in Perth on business and decided to catch a show while I was in town and I’m glad I chose Hus Majesty’s. The theatre is Edwardian Baroque constructed just after the turn of the century (1904) and has a palpable Royal ambience and is now on the State Register of Historical Places. The theatre is located on Hay St right in the CBD unlike the Crown Theatre (Perth’s other major entertainment venue) which is a short ride out of town. Plenty of food options nearby including a restaurant inside the building. The theatre shows a diverse range of work from ballet and opera (its home to the West Australian Ballet & West Australian Opera) to concerts and touring theatre productions ( I saw the National Tour of ‘1984’). Attending a performance at His Majesty’s is an experience you should to your list of things to do in Perth.

Went to see Peter Pan and had a great time. The small size of the theatre provided a friendly and cozy space.
Staff were very helpful and polite.

Very nice "Small Town" theatre. Although not glitzy this venue was a lovely setting to view Peter Pan. Seating was very comfortable, acoustics very nice and the ushers were helpful and friendly. All seats appear to have a very good viewing regardless of proximity to the stage and oh yes, the ballet was lovely.

The theatre is very old great architecture. It has a larger foyer with a bar. Staff very organised. The seating is pretty tight when someone wants to go out. Great views though from most seating. we were approximately 6 rows back which was excellent. Can highly recommend
