His Majesty's Theatre has been very well maintained over the years but has not lost its original features. The atmosphere inside reminds me of the West End in London. This is not a modern, sleek theatre but a heritage building with lots of wood, velvet and charm inside. Like most old theatres the toilet facilities for women are inadequate so expect queues. The best seating is obviously in the central areas of each level. Seats on the edges of the Stalls can block sections of the stage. There is no parking immediately near the theatre. Most patrons choose a multi-storey government car park on the opposite side of Hay Street, about 10 mins walk, which is not too expensive.

I am a tour volunteer ,at the theatre over the past twelve years.built in around 1902.renovated in approx.1969-1970.Old World Charm of a Hundred years, the high mock dome ceiling ,is breath taking ,so is the decor ,every piece of the carvings original, were painstakingly removed ,stored and replaced after renovation including the white and grey marble staircase, upstairs a cosy intimate Dress Circle Bar.downstairs,a Museum with relic and marvellous costumes of Shows of yesteryear.here is also a Cabaret and bar ,light music and shows .His Majesties Theatre has much to offer to the Arty Holiday Maker ,ne'er leave Perth without a visit to the Grand King.theatre is open Monday to Friday ,a visit costs a Gold Coin Donation.

One of Perth's more attractive buildings in a nice area of the CBD.

If you see a good show here you'll have a nice time.
