Literally just checked into the place. Looks, feels, and smells like a cheap prefabricated apartment. If it wasn’t almost midnight, I would leave and try to find a better place.
Also didn’t exactly help that the staff are almost as new as the walls. Had no clue what they were doing when they were checking me in.

Hi Christian,
Thank you for your feedback. We have taken on board your comments and whilst we feel we have an exceptional heritage product we do understand these are not to everyone's liking. We would love to recommend you stay in a Premier suite or Deluxe room on your next visit rather than a heritage suite.
Kind Regards,
Natalie

Just stayed here with 6 of my colleagues.
Hotel nice and central to everything, rooms really cosy, food delicious. Front of desk helpful- whilst we had a little error at the start and end of our stay it was sorted and dealt with beautifully. Cindy from booking was exceptionally helpful when making our booking and at the end to sort through something.
My only negative feedback was the slowness in delivering breakfast- we had to ask a couple of time as it took forever sometimes and we had meetings to go to. Once it arrived it was super yummy.
Thanks for a lovely stay. - team from Nido Early School

Thank you for your feedback. We are committed to providing our guests with exceptional customer service and are disappointed with your experience. I have passed on your comments to the Food & Beverage Manager to follow up the speed of service issue to prevent it happening again. Highly recommend this for a night out with the girls! Stayed there with my two best friends in the premiere suite - certainly worth paying the extra. Incredibly lux (I want the furniture in my house!) complete with Loccataine products, Nespresso machine and paper in the morning. The cocktails on the rooftop bar were delicious. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Dear 1amyloub,

Thank you for your feedback. Being the ‘new kid on the block’ we are glad our customer service and surprising touches made us stand out from the rest- and we take pride in offering discreetly luxurious rooms. We want every guest to have a personal experience and are ecstatic we impressed you during your stay.
We are also glad you enjoyed Aurora because designed with you in mind, it is a vibrant space perched on the rooftop with views across the Perth cityscape. We feel it’s one of Perth's best kept secrets! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind Regards,
Natalie

I’m unsure where to begin on the reflection and review of our stay at The Melbourne Hotel…

My fiancé and I had been recommended to experience the Hotel as a possible venue for our wedding due to our original hotel closing down and the venue ticked all our boxes; well this was prior to actually stepping foot into the hotel.

Firstly, parking – no reference to the availability of parking on their website and upon calling to try to organise, was rudely advised we either have to pay an additional fee for valet parking to have the vehicle secured onsite or go around the corner for public parking. We elected the secured parking onsite but had to illegally park whilst undertaking the check-in process as there is no street parking available near the hotel.

The check-in process – this was the part that left me in tears and will be the reason why I will never return to The Melbourne Hotel.

The ‘Team Leader’ undertook the check in process. Between being rude & very unfriendly, we were advised that we had to pay a further $300 for a bond allowance. Not once did I read this on their website and on their booking confirmation email, there was not a mention of further funds being required, especially a further $300. He then rudely advised, once asked about the reimbursement, that it will take 2 business days to clear back into the account. He did not go through our booking nor advise us what the process was for our breakfast as we had upgraded our reservation to include this.

The room was nice, clean & fresh. The ‘rain water’ head in the shower leaked from the ceiling so we experienced cold drops whilst having a shower. The only thing that was positive was the bath tub which is such a shame for such a highly promoted and advertised establishment.

The service downstairs at the bar was slow, not the best wine list and staff have a hard time being friendly and smiling.

Upon checking out, the young lady on the counter would be the hotel’s best asset. Her customer service was exceptional and amazing. She however, advised that the most their ‘Team Leader’ should have taken from my Mastercard for our ‘bond’ was $100 per night as we were only staying one night. This information has left my fiancé so unhappy and infuriated that he’s pursing avenues via Department of Consumer Protection in regards to this ‘bond deduction’.

Would I recommend this hotel to anyone to either stay or have a function, especially a wedding? Not in the slightest notion. Management need to address customer service issues, maintenance and update their media forums to correctly advertise their hotel by clearly advising their guests of the charges upon arrival.

Still waiting on my ‘bond’ to be refunded and after the tears from the experience, will never support The Melbourne Hotel again nor put my wedding guests through what we experienced.

Good Afternoon Katrina,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Good, bad or indifferent we encourage feedback just like yours to help bring to light improvements we can make at our newly opened establishment. We at the Melbourne Hotel like to provide different options to our guests in regards to parking at a range of different prices. A valet service is always offered at an additional fee for any guest who wishes to experience that VIP treatment however is not our only option. As mentioned by yourself, temporary street parking is available but we do recommend you read street signs carefully to avoid parking illegally. We also have a temporary check-in lane located next to the hotel where it is recommended you initially park before proceeding to check-in where you are then made aware of our parking options. We apologise if the way this information was delivered to you was miss-informative or inadequate. On your registration card it clearly states a $100 per night security bond is required for all credit cards, and a $300 security bond for all debit cards. In this instance, I can see you have provided a Debit card and hence the $300 pre-authorization of funds. This is also outlined in the booking confirmation you received upon placing your reservation online. Your comments have been taken on board towards the way we deliver this information and will be outlined when undertaking customer service training with our staff. Although your experience was not what we would have hoped for, we do encourage your return at some point in the future and allow us to show you that the Melbourne Hotel values the service we provide.

Kind Regards,
Zoe
