I went on this tour hoping to learn more about the Aboriginal culture and history. Instead Brian told us a little about the resort and a little about the midden piles. This would be fine for a shorter tour, but that was pretty much it for 6 hours. The rest of the time we were just kind of at a loss sitting around. Brian is a lovely man, the tour just needs to be a little more structured with a lot more information imparted about the history and daily lives of the local people. There was no chance to spear fish. Only sat on a bank watching Brian using a lovely modern spear gun. It just wasn't involving of the paying guest and a huge disappointment. The 3 stars are for visiting some beautiful locations and the lovely bit of fish we got to eat at the end.

Thank James O

Sorry you didn't have your expectations met. I'm sure Brian would have answered any question you had, and would have been happy to share spears with you, show you how to use them etc. Sometimes he may not think it safe for people to be in the creek at a fuller tide - so will catch the feed for you. I'm not sure if that applied on this occasion.

Howver I would say to anyone reading this - be proactive. The tours are structured by the guests. Brian is highly responsive. Ask questions, tell him what you are interested in. He is a very experienced tour guide with a wealth of knowledge.

Hope you had a great day anyway.

Thanks

Erica

A day with Brian is a rare privilege. He takes you onto Abooriginal country and generously shares his knowledge and experience. Wonderful swimming, fishing and crabbing spots are a bonus, as were the 4 mud crabs our tour was lucky enough to share.

This was a great trip, Brian's stories about country were interesting and even though we didn't catch any mud crabs the trek through the mangroves was memorable. Swimming good fun.

This 4WD tour over beach and red sand dunes led by local Barwi man Brian is one of the best things we've ever done. We can't thank Brian and the local indigenous people enough for allowing us to see this part of our incredible country.
Totally kid friendly (ours 3 & 5), beach snorkelling, mud crabbing and cooking speared fish for lunch. Not much is better than this.

Had the best day out with Brian and his much younger cousin Zac. Our group had quite a few kids and Brian was wonderful with them. Zac was a magnet for the boys, teaching them how to throw a spear for fish and search for muddies. We really loved the way the day panned out- never in a hurry but learning about the environment and Brian always willing to accomodate people's requests. Wonderful day!
