Rooms are large and comfy. The hotel downstairs has an excellent bar, bar and restaurant. Spa in our room was great. Loved everything about the place including the great location, not far from the city of Melbourne. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Room tip: We stayed in room one on the first floor. Very quiet after 11pm. Double glazing cut out the street noise completely.

I stayed two night at the Glenferrie whilst attending a course at a local university. The rooms are large, with a big TV, and a king size bed. There is a two person spa, with a wonderful rain shower above! The first night, I had a good sleep, however the second night, I found out that it was Uni night at several of the local clubs, and there was heaps of noise until about 3am!. The traffic noise isn't so bad, and the hotel explained that it was only Tuesday nights that this party noise happened. It was also a very windy night, causing the old windows to rattle. I mentioned this on checkout, and was assured that this would be fixed. The location is great, only a 10 minute walk to trains, and even shorter to trams. There are heaps of restaurants around as well Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is free undercover parking..So in summing up, a great place to stay, however I would ask for an off street room next time.

Room tip: Ask for an off street room if you are a light sleeper.

The Glenbervie Hotel is quaint but very comfortable and friendly. While they’ve maintained the historic charm of the hotel, they’ve ensured that the comfort and cleanliness is totally up to date.
It’s a perfect location to stay if you need to be at Swinburne or the main streets of Hawthorn, and on great public transport routes into the city if you need
A lovely place to stay

The Glenferrie Hotel is a 19th century building with amenity of contemporary times. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the bed especially. A good sized bathroom and comfort in the provision of a sofa as well. The floor is a little creaky in places, but it's a charming old building with wood and stone everywhere. Downstairs is a Melbourne pub - bliss! Great food and wine and happy hour makes it even more enjoyable. The staff were consistently helpful and the manager on check in was pleased to help, even carrying bags up stairs. A welcome find in suburban Melbourne

Room tip: The mid size room which we had was quite enough.

Tried the home made lamb pie special which was small, dry and very little taste. The seafood pasta dish had mussels that were quite bitter and dish did not appear very fresh. Drinks were expensive and hence overall wouldn’t recommend.
